Week 1 Term 3 Catapults! It has been a fun and productive first week back at school and we have been impressed with the hard work and enthusiasm we have seen. At Investigation Time we had a focus on catapults. This led to discussions about what they are, why they are used and when they have been used in history. The class particularly loved the idea of trying to knock down castles! So we designed and made some catapults and also a castle that we could destroy. Some children made targets and did some measuring to see how far we could catapult an object. We also made a large catapult outside that involved a lot of problem solving, teamwork and discussion.

Friday Fun Day!

What a busy day it was today!  We started by having a fun sports session on the top court.   Next, we shared a lovely picnic on the mat with our special VIPs Mr Dewar and Trena.  We appreciate all the work they do for us behind the scene. After morning tea our amazing PMP Coordinator Rachel had organised a wonderful Superhero themed PMP lesson.  Students had to save kittens that were stuck in trees, cross lava lakes, fly through the air and travel through the tunnel of doom!  Thank you so much, Rachel, for organising this fun event, you are a hero! Before lunch Room 7 visited Room 16 and we had a disco dancing to all of our favourite songs.  Thanks for being our guests Room 7. After lunch, the amazingly talented Jane, who has been working in Room 16 wanted to share a treat with Room 16 students.  She told everyone how proud she was of all their hard work.  Room 16 students have loved working with Jane and she has been such a huge asset to Room 16.  Thank you Jane.
