Week 4 Term 1 It has been a scientific week. After watching the Science in a Van show telling the story of the Billy Goats Gruff - but looking at forces, we were inspired to try out our own science experiments and had lots of fun making balloons inflate and turning them into rockets. The predictions and discussions have been amazing! We also introduced our new outdoor trolley and were impressed with the range of investigations that we saw happening. Here is a snapshot of some of our week.

Flying High!

This week's provocation was about Flying Machines.  Many students chose to have a go at designing a machine that could fly.  It was fun trying to create the machine using different equipment in the classroom.  On Friday everyone who made a machine was able to test it on the top court. We have challenged Room 16 students who designed a Flying Machine to have a go at describing their machine to someone in their whānau using the pictures on the blog.

Week 2 2018 It has been a short but busy week in Room 16. We have been continuing to work on our learning maps that we will be sharing with you at the parent-teacher interviews in week 5. Please sign up if you haven't already as we would love to see you. We had our wonderful PMP lessons - many thanks to Rachel and our helpers.  We also have a wonderful display of self portraits. Have a look at the photos of our week and see if you can spot your child.
