More Puppets, a Film Festival and Messy Papier Mache Fun!

Image
This week we continued with our puppet theme.  Room 16 had a go at making finger puppets and creating a puppet theatre.  Students wrote scripts and then put on very entertaining puppet shows.   Today everyone began putting papier mache onto balloons to create puppets from their designs that they drew last week.  It was a lot of messy, gloopy fun. Room 16 also enjoyed their weekly PMP lesson with the wonderful Rachel.  Stretching the lycra is always a fun activity.

Term4 Week 1 - puppets and pedometers

Welcome to the last term of the school year. This week we have been thinking about puppets. We created puppets and some puppet theatres to act out Elephant and Piggy stories. We were so impressed with some script writing that happened. We are taking part in New Zealand's Healthiest Schools challenge. We all have a pedometer and are aiming to be as active as possible. Brenda started a walking club and we decorated rocks to take on the walk and hide in the community. We have begun sending home a Stories from our Past folder so every family can share a story about their family or culture. We are looking forward to finding out more about all our families. We took part in the New Zealand Great Shakeout and practised our Drop, Cover and Hold.
