Commonwealth Games, Mysterious Objects, Assembly and Fales.

It has been such a busy week in Room 16.  We have been learning about the Commonwealth Games this week.  We had a mini Commonwealth Games on Monday including a swimming relay to celebrate making it to the last week of school.

On Tuesday a mysterious object appeared in Mrs Digney's garden.  She brought it to school to see if anyone in Room 16 could explain what it might be and where it had come from!  Room 16 did some wonderful, descriptive writing that will be published and available to read in the classroom in Term 2.

On Wednesday Brenda and Mrs Digney were so proud of Room 16.  They did a fantastic job of hosting the whole school assembly.  They demonstrated respect and responsibility.  A special thank you to Tiana-Lee and Miaz who did a wonderful job of being our presenters.

Many students have also spent the week working on our class fale.  It has taken a lot of problem-solving and cooperation and we have nearly finished putting the walls up.  The next step will be to work out how to weave the flax onto our fale.

Next term we will be learning about the ANZACs and why we observe ANZAC Day.  If you get the opportunity, there are many services being held at RSAs around Wellington and Porirua.

Next term our Inquiry focus will be Creativity.  Our swimming day will be Wednesday.  Please ensure that your child has their swimming togs, towel and goggles every Wednesday.  PMP will be every Friday.  Please let us know if you are to help with this.

We wish you all a safe and enjoyable April school holidays.  We will look forward to seeing everyone well rested and ready for Term 2.
